When the Israelites wandered in the desert, they followed God in the pillar of cloud by day or pillar of fire by night, going until He told them to stop. Their schedule looked like this:
1. When God moves, pack up and start walking
2. When God stops moving, set up camp
Following God was their plan A-Z. After the events of this month, I feel like I’ve been given just a taste of that. I don’t know what the plan is or even if I should be making plans right now; I’m just following and waiting for Him to lead. It’s unsettling in one respect, but in another, I have never been more convinced that God is the only one in control.
And, it is so KIND of Him to be teaching us, His children alive in 2020, the reality of our situation. We don’t have control, we are 100% dependent on God despite our technology and our careers and our healthcare and our plans and our sense of security. Feeling that dependence is a BLESSING. May that feeling continue when these events are just a memory.
