This is just going to be a short little commentary…
Raise you’re hand if you’re tired of hearing about the presidential election even though it’s still only 2015.
*raises hand*
Raise your hand if you’re afraid gender is going to play way too big of a role in campaigning next year.
*raises hand*
I hear whispers of this everywhere, and it appalls me. It especially appalls me when I read or listen to women saying things like, “Oh, of course I’m voting for her! We women have to stick together!” or “I want a woman to become president because of what it would mean for women everywhere,” or “We need a woman in the oval office.”
I’m sorry, but isn’t that sexism? Isn’t that basing the whole ball of wax on the candidate’s gender, and not the kind of president they would make? That’s the equivalent of saying, “I’m not voting for the other guy because he’s a man.” Why does no one blow the whistle on this form of sexism? Why is it unacceptable to think negatively of someone because she’s a woman, but it’s acceptable to think positively of her because she’s a woman??
I’m just wondering…
–SONG
Preach it, sister! Your song is appropriate, too. 😉
And that screenshot!!! 😀
Thank you much! I felt like the photo was a pretty big win. 🙂
Yes and yes, it is and I am so glad I am not the only one who is tired of this election talk already. I just want it to be over.
A whole other year! We’ll get through it somehow! 😉 Thanks for stopping by, Lily. I hear you!
