Last week, I kept hearing this quote that I’m carrying into my morning…
“Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.”
-Voltaire
Because I am on social media along with most of you, I know how tempting it is to compare my work with what the rest of the world is doing, particularly the work of other people in my niche. After scrolling through Twitter and Instagram or even just turning on the television, it’s a daily struggle to quit striving to do things perfectly and just do what will be good for today. Voltaire’s words struck a chord in me, reminded me of the futility of perfection, and warned me of the danger involved in becoming fixated on it.
This week, I’m going to focus on each baby step of a day. Not achieving perfection, not reaching my life goal, not being the best, but just doing what will be good for today. The alternative is becoming so suffocated by perfection that I don’t do anything. And, in that, I and everyone I’m destined to help, will miss out.
These are great words to start the week with…Don’t let perfection derail the goodness that you’re capable of this week. 🙂 Have a great Monday, my friends!
