I have a fun one for you today! I am rounding up my favorite fashion trends for spring/summer 2018! This season, the trends span a range of styles, including some that are a tad too bold for me. I have pretty much refused to ever wear a fanny pack or head-to-toe rainbow (forgive me if you love those looks, I’m just not that brave), but this year you can find plenty of pieces in stores that are both on-trend and wearable. The key word there is “wearable”. Here are some of my favorites:
blouse | jeans | dress | pumps
Embroidery is such a beautiful, artistic accent and, as in all of the examples above, it can turn more basic pieces into something unique and fun. This element is everywhere this year!
blue top | skirt | flats | sweater
I wasn’t sure what I thought about the ruffles trend for a while, especially on sleeves. Now, I have to say, I think a few ruffles are quite lovely AND useful. What a simple, feminine way to accentuate your shoulders and balance out hips! Great tip for pear-shaped girls! 🙂
blouse | scarf | dress | skirt
I don’t think polka dots ever go out of style, but they are definitely cropping up a lot more in 2018. I am a big fan of smaller dot prints like the ones above.
blazer | bag | t-shirt | skirt
The color red! This is my favorite color at the moment and a popular one in 2018. It makes a statement in both casual and dressier pieces and is plenty energetic for the warm, active months.
bag | top | sweater | sandals
This one has the potential to be a little hard to wear. Clear, plastic skirts aren’t my thing, but a clear plastic beach bag like the one above is cute and easy. Sheer elements in clothes, on the sleeves or neck, are also beautiful, easy ways to make a piece more unique. I have to say, the shoes are on the quirkier side, but I really liked them! There are feathers in the heels!
mules | shirt | sweater | sunglasses
This pastel lilac shade is perfect for spring and is also Pantone’s 2018 color of the year! My favorite item above are the sunglasses. Buying an accessory is a great way to utilize a trend without going overboard!
pants | dress | sandals | skirt
Gingham has always screamed summertime, don’t you think? It’s fresh and fun and easy to find this year. Check out the more abstract version in the skirt above.
jeans | t-shirt | bag | skirt
Another timeless element: pearls. This year, though, they’re not only being worn as jewelry, they’re studding clothing! I love how understated the t-shirt and jeans above are, but if you wanted to go the more extreme route, you could wear them all over a tulle skirt. Gorgeous!
